First-ever Luxury Ramayan Cruise service on the holy Saryu River
- ‘Ramayan Cruise Tour’ on the Saryu river in Ayodhya will be launched soon.
- It will be the first-ever luxury Cruise service on the Saryu river (Ghagra/National Waterways-40) in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh.
- It aims to give mesmerizing experience to devotees with one-of-its-kind spiritual journeys while cruising through the famous ghats of the holy river Saryu.
- The cruise will be equipped with all luxury comfort and facilities along with all essential safety and security features at par with the global standard.
- The interiors of the cruise and the boarding point will be based on the theme of Ramcharitmanas.
- The fully air-conditioned 80-seater cruise will have large glass windows for experiencing the scenic beauty of Ghats.
- The cruise will be equipped with kitchen and pantry facilities for the comfort of the tourists.
- The cruise contains bio toilets and hybrid engines system for the ‘zero effect’ on environment.
- Tourists will be taken on the ‘Ramcharitmanas Tour’, of 1-1.5 hour duration, featuring an exclusively made video film of 45-60 minutes duration, based on Ramcharitmanas by Goswami Tulsidas, covering the period from the birth of Lord Ram to his Rajyabhishek.
- The entire tour will cover the approximately 15-16 Km distance.
- There will be several activities and selfie points inspired by different episodes of Ramayan.
- The tour will be followed by Saryu Aarti, in which every member will be able to actively participate.
- Ayodhya is the birthplace of Lord Ram, as mentioned in in the great Indian epic Ramayan.
- It is also the first of the seven most important pilgrimage sites (Mokshdayini Sapt Puris) for the Hindus.
- Approximately, 2 crore tourists visit Ayodhya every year as per the data of UP tourism, for the year 2019.
- After completion of the Ram Mandir, it is to be believed that the inflow of the tourists will be increased.
- The ‘Ramayan Cruise Tour’ will not only attract a large number of tourists but it will also generate direct and indirect employment opportunities in the region.
- Ministry of ports, Shipping and Waterways will provide all necessary infrastructural support for the smooth operation of the cruise service.
Nagaland on their Statehood Day
- Nagaland is celebrating its 58th Statehood Day this year 2020.
- Nagaland was granted statehood on December 1, 1963, with Kohima being declared as its capital.
- The state has experienced insurgency, as well as an inter-ethnic conflict, since the 1950s. The violence and insecurity have limited Nagaland’s economic development.
- As The State of Nagaland Act, 1962, was thus enacted by the Parliament to give Nagaland statehood.
- Because, Prior to this, Naga leaders and the central government reached an agreement to create a separate region of the Naga Hills in 1957.
- Nagaland is a state in north-eastern India.
- It is bordered by the state of Arunachal Pradesh to the north, Assam to the west, Manipur to the south and the Sagaing Region of Myanmar to the east.
- Nagaland’s capital city is Kohima and its largest city is Dimapur.
- It has an area of 16,579 square kilometres (6,401 sq mi) with a population of 1,980,602 per the 2011 Census of India, making it one of the smallest states of India.
- Agriculture is the most important economic activity, covering over 70% of the state’s economy.
- Other significant economic activity includes forestry, tourism, insurance, real estate, and miscellaneous cottage industries.
- The state lies between the parallels of 98 and 96 degrees east longitude and 26.6 and 27.4 degrees latitude north. The state is home to a rich variety of flora and fauna.
- Nagaland is largely a mountainous state.
- he Naga Hills rise from the Brahmaputra Valley in Assam to about 610 metres.
- Further, the Naga Hills merge where with the Patkai Range in which form the boundary with Burma.
- Rivers such as the Doyang and Diphu to the north, the Barak river in the southwest, dissect the entire state.
- Nagaland is known in India as the land of festivals.
- Hornbill Festival was launched by the Government of Nagaland in December 2000 to encourage inter-tribal interaction and to promote cultural heritage of the state.
- Moreover, The people of Nagaland are known for their courage and kindness.
- Their culture is exemplary and so is their contribution to India’s progress.
Cyclonic Storm 'Burevi' over southwest Bay of Bengal
The Deep Depression over southwest Bay of Bengal moved west-northwestwards with a speed of 09 kmph during past six hours, intensified into Cyclonic Storm ‘Burevi’ and lay centered at 1730 hrs IST of today, the 01st December 2020 over southwest Bay of Bengal near Lat. 7.9° N and Long. 84.8°E, about 400 km east-southeast of Trincomalee (Sri Lanka) and 800 km east-southeast of Kanniyakumari (India) or southern coast of the state between Kanniyakumari and Pamban.
The IMD has issued a red warning for south Tamil Nadu and south Kerala, where heavy to very heavy rainfall is expected at most places. Further, extremely heavy rainfall is also likely over some places in these areas on the same date. The alert has been issued for Ramanathapuram, Thoothukudi, Tirunelveli, Kanniyakumari, Tenkasi and Sivagangai districts in south Tamil Nadu and Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta and Alappuzah districts in south Kerala. People living along the coastline, and those inhabiting the catchment areas of three dams in the district, and along the banks of rivers have all been put on high alert.
